Stock Up on These Items Due to the Supply Chain Shortages

But now there's a shortage of those items."

Toilet paper is in short supply at the moment, and that's not the only commodity that is in short supply.

The coronavirus has impacted the supply chains for many common consumer products. The impact on these products is going to be especially noticeable in the coming weeks and months, and some of the shortages may be temporary, but they may be ongoing for months to come.

If you are a consumer who has been stockpiling, it is time to stop for now.

The coronavirus has affected the supply chains for many common consumer products.

"There's a good chance we'll see some of these shortages continue at least through the end of the year," said Justin Hinkes, senior vice president of supply chain and operations at Citi, a financial services company. "There's not a clear answer as to how long they'll last. I think it's going to be a roller-coaster ride."

Toilet Paper

The coronavirus is impacting the toilet paper supply chain. "Demand has skyrocketed, and we are now seeing inventory shortages at the wholesale level," said Matt Wood, a vice president at the National Retail Federation.

"I would say it's more of a matter of toilet paper than it is hand sanitizer," said Frank Kuffel, a senior vice president at the National Retail Federation. "But as far as toilet paper, we are seeing a lot of concern."

If you are a consumer who has been stockpiling, it is time to stop for now.

"We have been getting requests for toilet paper from large retailers, but they are not able to meet our needs," said Jessica Donahue, a spokeswoman for the National Toilet Paper Association. "Our industry is taking a hit, and that's where we are seeing the shortages."

"It is not the same situation as it was before," said Donahue. "There are warehouses that have been sitting on a bunch of toilet paper and not getting any orders, and they are just sitting there and not moving it."

"We are seeing a shortage of supplies," said Donahue. "We're not seeing any dramatic shortages, but we are seeing a lot of requests."

Hinkes said that about 70% of the toilet paper that is produced is consumed in the United States, and that the majority of that is consumed at home.

"The reality is that the toilet paper that Americans use at home is not going to be impacted by shortages," said Hinkes. "We're still going to have a supply."

Hand Sanitizer

A similar story can be told about hand sanitizer. "There is an acute shortage of hand sanitizer," said Steven Maviglio, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee. "The coronavirus has impacted the supply chains for many common consumer products, and hand sanitizer is one of them."

"We are seeing a lot of requests," said Donahue.
