It means that it’s not going to break when the market changes. And it means that you’re not going to have to spend tons of time and money to re-build your solution.
Because if it’s not the case, and you have to re-build a product, you should probably start a new one.
That’s why the idea of building a product that’s going to last is key.
The success of a product is not only based on the technology that you use, but also on the market that you’re trying to reach.
And for a product that’s going to last, it’s also very important to make sure that the market that you’re trying to reach is compatible with the product.
In my case, the market was Facebook. And the “Facebook is going to get stricter” news came just at the right time.
So, I had to quickly adapt my product, make it compatible with Facebook’s new policies, and release my product in just 2 weeks.
This is a hard challenge, because the market is changing while you’re building your product.
Be flexible, and learn to adapt to changes as they happen.
I’m still not sure if I’m a good “leaver”, but I’m pretty convinced that you shouldn’t leave a market, if you can’t adapt to the market changes.
You can’t build your product as a rigid, static, and mono-visioned product. You should adapt to changes as they happen.
If you can’t do that, you’re probably going to get in trouble.
If you’re building a product that will last, then you have to be really flexible and adaptable.
One more time:
In order to build a product that’s going to last, make sure that you’re building a product that’s compatible with the market that you’re trying to reach.
It means that you should try to adapt the product to changes in the market.
If you can’t adapt to the market changes, you should probably just leave the market.
It’s not a good idea to build a product that’s going to last, if you’re not building a product that’s compatible with the market that you’re trying to reach.
